The good news for Atlanta: It moved up from last year's ranking as the unhealthiest city for men. The bad: It's still the baldest address in America. Based on the number of doctor visits for androgenetic alopecia (a.k.a. mail-pattern baldness) and the number of Propecia prescriptions per capita, men in Atlanta give new meaning to "the Georgia Dome."
How men in Atlanta can catch up: Use sunscreen. In a study of 190 men, Belgian researchers found that a sun-damaged scalp almost always preceded hair loss, possibly because excessive exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation shifts the follicles into their dormant phase.
